General Candidates:
Candidates with BTech./ M.Sc or equivalent degree with 75% marks (or CGPA 8.5)

Admission Through Test/Interview :
Vacancies remaining after admission of candidates through Direct Admission will be filled through test/interview. 70% weightage will be given to GATE score and rest for performance in test/interview. Candidates satisfying the following criteria will be considered eligible for admission: BTech or equivalent degree holders who have qualified GATE with a valid score.

Candidates with AMIE/Grad. IETE qualifications may be considered for admission to the MTech programmes. If selected for admission, they would be required to complete 24 valid undergraduate credits prescribed by the concerned Department/Interdisciplinary Programme by getting them admitted as casual Students and would also be required to qualify GATE before being actually admitted.

All candidates (full-time/sponsored/part-time) with or without GATE should have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters of the qualifying examination) or CGPA 6.75 on a 10-point scale as determined by IIT Delhi in their qualifying examination. Relaxation in CGPA upto 6.25 or in marks upto 55% in the eligibility criteria may be given to SC/ST candidates. For those appearing in the final year, their performance upto 7th semester (BTech/BE) will be considered at the time of admission.

Relaxation in CGPA upto 5.75 on a 10 point scale or in marks upto 50%, may be permitted for physically handicapped candidates.

Reservation of Seats :
15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe candidates in all the programmes.

Three seats are reserved for physically handicapped candidates for admission to MTech and PhD programmes together.

Minimum cut-off GATE Percentile for admission :
No admission to M.Tech. programme will be made if the GATE percentile is below the undermentioned cut-off:

For General Category: 75 percentile

For SC/ST Category: 50 percentile

The minimum cut-off GATE percentile indicated above does not guarantee admission because candidates with much higher GATE percentile would be able to secure admission keeping in view that the admission is made on the basis of merit and most of the candidates are with much higher GATE percentile and the seats to be filled are limited.
