Dr. Ashwini K. Agrawal is a Professor at the Department of Textile Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. He is also an alumnus of this institute and graduated with silver medal from IIT Delhi in 1986 after completing his B. Tech. degree in Textile Technology. He obtained M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York, USA in 1992. He returned to his alma mater in 1995 as a faculty member after working in the US. His main areas of teaching and research interest are smart and intelligent textile materials, nano-materials, plasma processing, and fibre manufacturing. Currently, Prof. Ashwini Agrawal is Dean (Research and Development), IIT Delhi. He also holds Manish Singal Chair Professor, Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering, and Abdul Kalam Technological Innovation National Fellow (INAE), Coordinator SMITA Research Lab, a Centre of Excellence in Smart Textile.
